Swing Analyzer
Golf swing review on your Mac.
Frame-accurate playback at 120fps, annotations drawn over the picture as data rather than burnt into it, measured biomechanics, and coaching tied to the frame it refers to.
macOS 26 or later, Apple silicon. Signed and notarised, and it updates itself.
What it does
- Finds each swing in a long recording by the sound of the strike, and cuts it out.
- Tracks the body through the swing and names the positions — P1 to P10 — so advice can point at a frame instead of a feeling.
- Measures tempo, and says whether swings in a session genuinely differ or only appear to.
- Reads the launch monitor's numbers off the simulator screen when they are in shot, and lets you correct any of them.
- Compares two swings side by side, aligned on the positions they share rather than frame for frame, because tempo is what changes.
- Overlays one swing on another, registered on the hips at address.
- Trends any measurement across sessions, filtered by club.
- Exports a clip of a single move, slowed and looped.
The iPhone app
Everything above, on a phone propped up in the bay. It films the session, finds each swing by the sound of the strike, measures it and draws over it, with no Mac in the room.
In private testing. A public TestFlight link will appear here when the beta opens — Apple runs the enrolment, so there is nothing to sign up for and no address to leave with me.
Where your footage goes
Nowhere. Video is imported into a library on your own disk and every measurement — pose, impact, tempo, the simulator's numbers — is computed on your Mac. There is no account, no upload, and no telemetry.
The one exception is deliberate and opt-in. If you ask for a coaching read, a handful of still frames from that swing and its measurements are sent to Anthropic's API using an API key you supply yourself. Nothing is sent unless you press the button, and the app works without a key.
Something wrong?
Report it on the issue tracker. Say which version you are on and what the footage was — frame rate, resolution, and whether the camera was down the line or face on. Those three decide most of what the app can and cannot measure.
