Swing Analyzer is made by one person, Tristan Heilman, and every report is read.
Getting the apps
The Mac app is a free download from the homepage. It needs macOS 26 or later and an Apple silicon Mac, and it updates itself.
The iPhone app is in public beta through Apple's TestFlight. Install TestFlight from the App Store, then open the beta link on your iPhone.
Reporting a problem
Any of these reaches the developer:
- From the iPhone beta, use TestFlight's own feedback. Take a screenshot while the app is open and choose to share it as beta feedback, or open TestFlight, pick Swing Analyzer and tap Send Beta Feedback. Say what you expected to happen and what happened instead.
- By email, to beta@tristanheilman.com.
- On the issue tracker, where you can also see what has already been reported.
Most problems come down to the footage, so these help most:
- the app's version: on iPhone it is under Settings → About, and on the Mac under Swing Analyzer → About Swing Analyzer (feedback sent through TestFlight includes it for you),
- the frame rate the swing was filmed at,
- whether the camera was down the line or face on,
- where you were: at the range, hitting into a net, or in a simulator bay.
Filming
Where the camera stands, the frame rate and the sound of the strike decide most of what the app can measure. See how to film your golf swing for analysis.
